Five Beauty products I can't live without..

As a more mature woman I have spent many years trying out various different items for every type of product I apply to my face, my skin and my hair!  I still try out new products because these change, my skin and my hair changes and I also like to keep on top of trends if at all possible.

There are however 5 items that I have stuck with ever since I came across them and today I thought I would share them with you.

These items are in no particular order but I would really not want to be without any of them!

Chanel Stylo Longwear Eyeliner and Kohl Pencil  Despite my list having no particular ranking, there's no denying that I simply cannot do without this eyeliner pencil. Over the years, I’ve tested countless alternatives, but to date I haven't found one that comes close - even those designed particularly for the more mature woman. One of my biggest gripes with traditional pencils is the sharpening process—there’s nothing worse than a stray piece of wood scraping your eyelid which seems to happen to me on numerous occasions!

Having said that I have to be cautious of pencils that are too soft. They tend to smudge easily, leaving me looking as though I’ve either pulled an all-nighter or gone a few rounds in a boxing ring. Soft formulas also tend to rub off onto my eyelid over time, creating a less-than-flattering effect.

This eyeliner, however, strikes the perfect balance. It's easy to apply, even on more mature eyes, and it lasts throughout the day and there is quite a good range of colours to choose from. While it’s not the most affordable option on the market, as far as I'm concerned it’s worth every penny .

L’Oréal Professional Multi-Benefit Leave-in Treatment

L’Oréal Professional Multi-Benefit Leave-in Treatment, With Resveratrol for Coloured Hair, Serie Expert Vitamin Colour, 190 ml

My Hairdresser first introduced me to this product as I believe it was initially for Professional use only but you can buy it over the counter in many places. It is a multi-purpose spray that can be used before blow-drying on towel-dried, damp hair.

I no longer colour my hair (I used to have highlights) and this product is particularly good for coloured hair but I find it is just as suitable now and gives me a subtle lift and helps tame frizz, leaving my hair smoother and more manageable.

Trinny BFF SPF 30 Cream

Trinny London BFF SPF 30 Cream

Trinny’s website describes this product as “The glowy skin staple you’ll never want to go a day without" and I have to admit, I totally agree. After my usual morning skincare routine, I apply it beneath my SPF—though it boasts an SPF of 30, I prefer to use a separate SPF 50 on my face every day.

What I love most is how it evens out my skin tone, softening the appearance of darker areas and it lasts all day. The product starts off white upon application but quickly adapts to match your skin tone. It can be used on its own for a natural look, but I occasionally layer it with a compact powder for a bit more coverage.

COVER GIRL Clean Fresh Tinted Lip Balm

I find if I dont wear something on my lips every day then they become very dry.  I have therefore always worn a lipstick and have varied my choices over the years.  I have however fairly recently discovered this Covergirl Tinted Lip Balm and it has fast become my absolute go to Lip ‘treatment’.  This is the product description on their website and I couldn't have put it better…

‘a moisturising vegan lip balm that contains nourishing ingredients such as apricot kernel oil, Shea butter, mango seed butters, and vitamin C. The lightweight tinted lip balm leaves your lips feeling moisturised without being sticky or greasy.’

There are five different colours and it is very well priced HOWEVER ... Covergirl is not sold in the UK. Having said that I have found it on a few websites but you will be paying an import duty from the US on top of the price of the item. When mine runs out I may well be on the hunt for an alternative. ☹

Code Beautiful Natural Brow Definer..

This is quite a new product to me and one that is very quickly becoming an absolutely must in my make up bag!  It is very easy to use and helps thicken, shape, and define my brows without making them look overdramatic or unnatural.   It takes a bit of practice to perfect the look you want but it is an item I wouldn't really want to be without now that I have found it!!  There are three different colours to choose from.

In conclusion, these five beauty products have become staples in my regular routines, and I honestly couldn’t imagine being without them but I realise that they may not be to everyone's taste or preference but I do hope that whether you're on the hunt for something new or refining your beauty routine these favourites of mine inspire you to discover products that will make you feel confident and radiant and may end up being one of your favourites.

Love Jules xx 💖
