Your make up is looking flawless. Hair is giving off salon fresh vibes. You feel great, you are winning at life.
Lunchtime comes and you check yourself in a bathroom mirror. To your dismay, reflected back at you are mascara flakes, black smudges and dark circles that make you look as if you haven't slept for a week. If this has happened to you, it's time to introduce a tubing mascara to your make up kit!
I've been a big fan of tubing mascara for years now. It differs from traditional mascara as it wraps and seals your lashes in tube like polymers whereas traditional mascara paints wax pigment onto your lashes.
The benefits of tubing mascara are that it creates a flexible coating which won't flake or smudge making it long-lasting. The tube polymers are easily broken down with warm water so it's easy to remove meaning you can be gentle with your cleanser around the delicate eye area.
To tell if a mascara is tubing or not you can usually find out with a quick google search. However the other method is to check the INCI list - the ingredient you are looking out for is POLYMER (Polyvinylpyrrolidone).
Here are my top 3:

#3 - Revolution Lift & Define 5D Lash
This is my new go to BUDGET option for tubing mascara.
It used to be NYX Doll Lash but very sadly and for reasons I will never understand they discontinued that product.
This is a great alternative. It stays in place all day, no flakes, smudges, flawless finish from early am to night. Easily melts away with warm water so very gentle on the eye area.
I find I need a good two coats to achieve a more dramatic impact.

#2 - Eyeko Lash Alert
This mascara gives such great separation and volume.
It contains some great conditioning ingredients including biotin, castor oil and arginine which makes me feel that I'm nourishing my lashes while making them look lifted and fluttery.
It's perfect if your lashes are in need of some TLC.
I'm not crazy about the brush as I do prefer a straight wand however that's a personal preference.

#1 - Maybelline Sky High
This is my fail-proof, absolute go to, most favourite mascara. Possibly ever! I LOVE it.
The brush head is silicone which I much prefer over lots of bristles, allowing for smooth, clump free application.
It is the most impactful, lengthening and volumising tubing mascara I have used.
The price point is good and I've never had a tube that has dried out before being completely used up.
The downside with this one is I find is it's not quite as easy to remove as others. That said it comes away easily with oil or cream cleansers but it won't be removed with warm water alone like others that I've tested.
Now I am very tempted to try the Victoria Beckham Future Lash but at £29 it's a lot more than I ever spend on a ámascara, so if anyone has tried it please let me know your thoughts on it in the comments.
Thanks so much for reading and have a wonderful week.
