HD Brows vs Brow Lamination

What's the difference?

Which one is right for me?

How long do results last?

If you've been wondering what the difference is between these two treatments, whether you should try lamination or stick with HD, or you are just a curious person like me who loves to learn about beauty treatments, this blog post is for you :)

Question 1 - What is the difference?

HD Brows is a 7 step eyebrow styling experience. A key difference is that it includes designing and mapping the brows. This means addressing symmetry, creating a flattering shape, working with your facial features and personal style to achieve the best brows for you.

It's a bespoke service rather than a one size fits all and includes waxing, threading, tweezing, trimming and makeup tailoring.

Lamination is a brow hair restructuring treatment. It can be used to create that viral fluffy brow look but also to re-correct downward growing hairs, soften coarse hair, cover scars, create the illusion of fuller, thicker brows. It can just be a look or a style. A corrective treatment. Or both!

When I laminate I do also tint the brows and wax underneath for a crisp finish.

Question 2 - Which one is right for me?

Okay this is a little trickier to answer as really the answer is....possibly both treatments.

I offer complimentary brow consultations so can always offer a more in-depth personal answer on a 1:1 basis.

However in a nutshell HD Brows is always the option I would recommend if you have never had a brow treatment or haven't ever had a brow treatment including design/mapping.

If you have been having HD Brows with me for quite some time then lamination can absolutely be for you.

The only time I don't really recommend it, is if you have large full brows with dense hair and then very delicate, petite facial features as personally I think it then becomes overwhelming rather than flattering for your face.

Another point to note, is I laminate softly meaning I don't opt for the vertical, sky high brow lift look and aim to achieve a more complimentary, sweeping brow effect.

This is more universally flattering, grows out smoothly and makes it effortless to recreate the look on a day to day basis.

Question 3 - How long do results last?

On average HD Brows lasts 4-6 weeks.

In my experience, if we take your tint much darker than your natural colour it always feels this only last around 3 weeks but if we just match you natural colour or take one shader darker you'll find you get a good 5-6 weeks from the tint.

Everyone's hair growth is different but waxed hair is coming out at the root and so should last a good 4 weeks.

On average Brow Lamination lasts 8-12 weeks, slightly depending on aftercare.

Lots of my clients who love lamination alternate between HD and Lamination. This ensures we keep the shape right for your features, we don't over process the hair and we address hair removal on the top side of the brow regularly by including that HD precision waxing and threading step.

Hopefully this has answered some questions you may have about HD and Lamination and which is right for you but please feel free to ask anything in the comments or when you're next in for your brow or lash treatment.

Thanks for reading, have a wonderful week and I'll see you soon.
